3D Printing Operator

This role is responsible for operating 3D Jet Fusion printing systems to support production activities and ensure consistent, high-quality output. The role executes print jobs, performs part-extraction and post-processing activities, and conducts routine maintenance while adhering to safety and operational standards. The role is responsible for maintaining the 3D Jet fusion systems in optimal operating condition, ensuring consistent part quality and minimizing production downtime.
Responsibilities
- Operates Jet Fusion devices, executing production jobs in accordance with operational procedures.
- Processes and launches print builds using software tools (e.g., SmartStream Build Manager, Magics, Netfabb).
- Validates machine readiness before production (material levels, consumables, and system status) and manages consumables stock to ensure availability.
- Performs unpacking and post-processing of the printed builds.
- Manages powder lifecycle, including material handling and monitors powder quality.
- Conducts operator-level maintenance, including cleaning of equipment, replacement of consumables, upkeep of work areas, and execution of preventive maintenance activities (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).
- Identifies equipment issues or quality deviations and escalates as needed to support teams.
- Performs diagnostics and initial troubleshooting steps when issues occur, following guidance from support team, and replaces Customer Self-Repair (CSR) parts in accordance with guidelines and procedures.
- Performs visual inspection of parts and ensures adherence to quality standards and process requirements.
- Follows all safety procedures related to powder handling, equipment operation, and maintenance.
- Documents production activities, issues, and performance data to support continuous improvement.
- Works collaboratively with engineering and operations teams to support production goals.
Education & Experience Recommended
- Technical or vocational training (engineering, mechanics, manufacturing, or similar field) or equivalent experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, production environments, or industrial equipment operation is preferred.
- Experience in additive manufacturing or 3D printing technologies.
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic understanding of additive manufacturing processes (preferably Multi Jet Fusion).
- Familiarity with production workflows and equipment operation procedures.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency.
- Ability to follow standardized procedures and safety requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in English to understand documentation and interact with support teams.
- 3D Softwares such as Magics, Netfabb.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of Jet Fusion Operator Training and Certification is required.
- Ability to comply with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.
